A Memorial Dive for Louis Challenor

Louis Challenor was our friend and a regular diver out of Dover, a larger-than-life character with a personality to match. Having dived since he was a youngster, Louis always had a story to tell about his antics, both here and abroad. He travelled all over the world to pursue his passion for diving, and when news of his passing was announced, condolences poured in from divers who had known him at different times and in different corners of the world.

Today’s dive will be a tribute to Louis, who sadly passed away on 29th December 2025, doing what he loved, diving.

Some of his close friends from his home town of Kidderminster will be joining us, either aboard the boat or afterwards. They will bring Louis’s ashes so that, after the dive, his friends or fellow divers can scatter them in accordance with his wishes.

We’ll choose a local wreck on the day, depending on the weather and sea conditions. If it’s too squally to dive, we’ll simply find a sheltered spot at sea where we can scatter his ashes and remember him together.

Afterwards, we can all retreat to Cullins for a few pints, share a few Louis stories, and give those who couldn’t make his funeral and wake the chance to help give him a good send-off! 🙂
